KIRANTS MONASTERY
Kirants Monastery was built in the 13th century. At the time of the monastery’s creation, Armenians who adopted chalcedony lived here.
Almost all the buildings of the monastery are built of brick and from this point of view are among the unique monuments of Armenian medieval architecture.
The planning forms, symmetries and decorative and artistic elements of the church suggest that the monastery complex was built in the 1200s. The other two churches, located next to the main church, are also brick, the same, but smaller. The doors of all three churches open from the vaulted hall on the west side.
